Journal of the Malta College of Pharmacy Practice 15 Introduction Following the discovery of the association of peptic ulcer disease with Helicobacter pylori infection there has been a decline in the prevalence of uncomplicated peptic ulcer disease. In contrast, a striking rise in admissions for ulcer haemorrhage and perforation among elderly people is now being observed.
